Waitress San Jose Theatre reviews
Seen Fluffy last time he was the the fair 2017 vs2019
We enjoyed the festivities at the fair a few hours before arriving. The Celeste center was entered at 6, and our seats were found. Compared to other venues, the seating was easy to follow, and the seats were fairly comfortable, minus the lack of leg room.
The opener at 7:30 pm once the show started wasn’t that funny, unlike the previous year's opener. However, we came for Waitress, so I wasn’t that disappointed. Then came the “who’s the fattest” T-shirt competition, which I didn’t dislike. It was a little funny but seemed like a very clear attempt to sell merch in the middle of the show!
After all that, I was ready to see fluffy....nope. A “20 min” intermission came, which in reality turned into 45 mins. Once Waitress made the stage, I was tired and sort of out of the moment after sitting in my seat for almost 2 hours with no Waitress. Near the end, my wife and I left because the lights and leg room became too much after almost 3 hours.
To Waitress’s credit, he explained the delay and it seemed very valid. I just wish something else could have been done besides the whole start the show, sell merch, and wait almost an hour.
I would still see him again, stuff happens. Just thought I’d share my experience!
